Dad's 60th and Family in Town

This weekend, my brother and sister flew in (from Novato and Chicago) and surprised my dad for his 60th Birthday.  My dad had no clue they were coming.  Dana and I made arrangements to head north to help my dad with his house on Friday evening.  Little did he know that he would have more than just the two of us to help him out that evening.  Here's a video of them surprising him...

Dad and Zach talking in what will soon be the family room of the house.

Dana staining one of the beams that run along the RV port.

Alisa also stained some beams...

I stained one of the doors leading into the shop...

My beautiful work...

Entrance to the house...

Zach hard at work...

Love the red tile roof.  The outside of the house will be a white stucco.

My mom had fun with all of her grandkids...

Out for my dad's 60th Birthday...

We ate at Los Dos Molinas and I think I just became a huge fan.  I'm so glad that I like their food because they are not too far from home.

I liked that this door had my birth year on it, but I also liked that it let you know... their food is hot!  I love me some spicy food though.

Siblings...

We took tons of pictures of us making faces and then we all decided to do a serious shot.  I guess my dad didn't get the memo ha, ha... He's sticking out his tongue.

We watched one of the surgeons that I work with play in his band "Pearl Ridge" at The Dubliner, after dinner.  We all love the genre of music they play.  Here's a few clips...

I got to see a few of my PCH co-workers.  I work with Kayla during spine surgeries.

I don't know if he had "the moves like Jagger", but he sure looked like him...

Oh boy... We are a goofy bunch when we get together...

We sure do know how to make ourselves laugh though...

My dad's like... "who raised these kids?"

Alisa took this photo of my CD case.  I was lectured about how behind the times I am for still using CD's.

My mom watched the little ones while we were out for my dad's birthday.

The next morning, we hosted brunch at my house.

I always love having my whole family together.  I miss then more than I realize.  When we are all together, I am reminded that there are people in my life who know me and all of my history... we all have similar antics and familiar stories to share.  It's the best.

Miss Native American USA

This past weekend, Dana was a judge at the Miss Native American Pageant.  I learned that Miss Native American can be 1/4 native so if our daughters ever wanted to try out for it they could.

I only caught a handful of photos.

These were taken during the formal wear portion of the pageant...

These were taken during the native dress portion of the pageant...

The contestants each had to perform a talent.  Here's a video of the girl pictured above doing a hoop dance...

April Yazza from the Zune Pueblo and Navajo (Dine) tribes won the 2014 Miss Native American Pageant.  Here she is with the judges and founder of the pageant.
