Aiyana's First Field Trip

Aiyana was SOOO excited to attend her first field trip today.   Normally I wake her on a school morning, but this morning she got up on her own and the first thing that she said was "Mommy... It's my field trip day!". These kids earned their fun day at Tolmachoff Farms.

Here's all four classes, anxiously waiting for the buses to arrive...

The wonderful kindergarten teachers, Ms. Sackett and Ms. Ellis, taking attendance...

Boarding the bus.  Aiyana was almost more excited about getting to ride a school bus than anything else.  I think that was an exciting part for all of the kids.  Since they attend a charter school, they don't get to ride the bus to school like the public school kids do.

Aiyana and her field trip group...

Heading out to pick some veggies...

We got some of this lovely chard...

Aiyana was not loving the heat and the bugs, ha, ha.  Such a girly girl.

She found a turnip...

...and a carrot

Waiting for instruction on how to pick the next vegetable...

They got to feed some of the farm animals...

Ms. Sassy Pants herself...

They got to plant corn...

A sign showing some of the fun activities at the farm...

I use to hide inside of large tires like this when I was in elementary school.  Her and her friends playing in these tires reminded me of my younger years.

Aiyana and Alicia...

This was a BIG hit with the kids...

This girl LOVES to swing.... on anything.  So a rope swing was right up her alley.  I wish we had a tree large enough for a tire swing in our backyard, she would love that.

Playing water games...

On the slide with Alicia...

Silly girls...

These four girls have been friends since school started.... Delilah, Jayden, Aiyana and Alicia.

Riding a John Deere Tricycle...

They sure enjoyed their ride on this thing...

The little stinkers ducked down in their barrels so when the driver came back and we didn't see them, we panicked for a minute.

Sad to go home...

Aiyana's bounty from the farm...
