A couple of weekends ago we headed to California for a little get-a-way. First stop... Two nights on the beautiful Newport Beach.
Dana and the girls admiring the view from the hotel balcony. This was a really nice room and hotel.
Both of the girls got to pick out a toy from the hotel's toy box before heading to our room.
Clara relaxing on the bed... Silly girl.
After we checked in, we headed for the beach for a little photo shoot of the girls. The sun was starting to set and, unfortunately, Clara fell asleep on the way there. So Aiyana and I jumped out of the car and headed for the water while Dana looked for a parking spot.
Aiyana had so much fun running around on the beach.
I love how these sunset silhouette shots turned out...
Our memories of the ocean will linger on, long after our footprints in the sand are gone.
Nothing is better than a shell in your hand and sand between your toes.
I did get some photos of sweet Clara, but not many since she had just woken from a nap and she really didn't care much for the beach on the first night. The coastal evenings were a bit chilly for us Phoenix folks.
Poor thing was so cold.
Here's the view looking north on Newport Beach.
As the sun started to set, we headed back to our car and found a little "play park" as the girls like to call them.
A wonderful evening to kick off our California vacation.
