Clara Elizabeth | Mommy's Childhood German Dress

I had a blast going through this photo session of my youngest daughter, Clara. I am so grateful that my mom kept some of the clothes that I wore when I was little. This dress is special to me because my grandpa purchased it for me after I was born. My grandpa lived in Germany for a couple of years and he bought the dress there.

She may not be as fond of the camera as Aiyana, but she can still rock a photo session.  I love her to pieces.

Aiyana Rose | Mommy's Childhood Flower Girl Dress

These photos provide me with so much joy. This is my oldest daughter wearing a gown that I wore in a wedding when I was her age. I am so grateful that my mom kept some of the clothes that I wore when I was little. This dress holds even more meaning for me because it was made by my Nana. She loved to sew clothes for us and she is such an amazingly talented woman.

My happy Aiyana, I love her so much.

Aiyana is a child after a photographer's heart.  She smiles when I ask her to and she can turn that happy face into an intense look without fault.  She's an excellent little 4 year old model.

Me | A Portrait for Her Session

I got my very own "A Portrait for Her" session with my mom as the photographer. I am so thankful for her skills and for her willingness to put up with me being on the other side of the lens ;o).

Mom | A Portrait for Her Session

For the month of May, I offered "A Portrait for Her" sessions at Amber Rose Photography in honor of Mother's Day. The idea was to provide women with the opportunity to get some beautiful shots of themselves. I think, as women, we tend to be the ones behind the camera instead of in front of it so it's nice to have someone take our picture for once. I had 5 clients sign up, including my mom, and each one of them had my undivided attention.  I had so much fun with these sessions and I plan to do them again next year.  Since this is my personal blog, I am sharing my gorgeous mom's photos, but if you would like to see the rest you can check them out in the blog section of my website HERE.

I am so lucky to have such a beautiful mom to practice my portrait skills with.

Pool Fun in May

The girls had a lot of fun in their pool the other day. Part of me wishes we had a bigger, in-ground pool in our backyard, but maybe when the kids are older. We sure would get the use out of one in Phoenix, but I don't want to worry about them getting into it without me around and I definitely don't have time for the maintenance of a pool. This pool suffices for now.

Awe... So sweet.

Some friendly pool fighting...

A bit of sassiness...

Then back to hugs. I love these girls.

Mother's Day

I had a wonderful Mother's Day.  Here I am with the two little girls that make me a mommy.

Aiyana helped Dana pick out my present.  On Mother's Day morning, Aiyana and Clara handed me a home made card, roses and a bag full of an assortment of chocolate.

Here's a picture that Aiyana drew of me.  I am laying on the ground and that is a tree on the right side of the picture.  I must say that her drawings are getting more and more detailed.

Here's the card that they gave me...

... that's me on the front :o).  Here's the inside of the card...

Aiyana made the following card at church that day...

Looks like she was trying to write "mom" :o).

After church, Dana and I grilled chicken and corn on the cob then we went over to my mom's house to celebrate Mother's Day with MY mommy.

My mom is the best and most amazing mom in the whole world.  I love her so much.
