Aiyana's Still Four

Ready for some cuteness over-load?

Aiyana is going to be five in just 3 months!!! That's a little girl age as opposed to a toddler age.  Like I always do when I feel like time is flying.... I pull out my camera.  Lucky for me, Aiyana loves to pose.

Aiyana remains my gentle soul... She is quick to console and easily affected by the moods of those around her. She hugs with a tight embrace and she is known to tuck my hair behind my ear when she tells me she loves me :o).  I love this child more than words can explain.

Recently, Aiyana has started wearing a silver rose necklace of mine.  She loves to wear it to church and even when she's just playing in the house.  I decided that as much as I love that necklace, it should probably be hers. She is a very responsible child and she really takes care of her things.

Aiyana LOVES her dance class.  I am one proud momma when I stand at the the window and watch her learn new steps. She is so focused on her technique and form.  Aiyana is a tad shy, but you can see confidence exude from her otherwise shy personality when she is dancing.

Aiyana's best friend is her sister.  She plays with her the entire day and never tires of it.  I love to see how much she loves her sister.

Here's a collage I made of some of my favorites...

Family Photo Shoot | Spring 2013

It's somewhat of a custom for my family to do a photo shoot whenever we get together.  So when my brother came to Phoenix... We scheduled a photo shoot ;o).

It was my mom's idea to replicate a photo that we did in the fall of 2011 with the three cousins, Aiyana, Clara & Mason.  Here is a "Now & Then" collage of a couple of the photos that we took.  We didn't have them in order on the top photos, but you can still get the perspective of how much they have grown.

Here they are in all of their cuteness...

Nana with her grandkids...

I love this one...

Mason had a little photo shoot all to himself ;o).

I love the intense, but pure and innocent look on his face in this picture.

 Peek-a-boo!

Had to get a close up of all of his adorable features...

Mason did this cute pose all on his own...

Love him to pieces :o)

This next collection of photos was of an unplanned moment that my mom had with Mason. My mom was tagging along to make sure that Mason didn't fall out of any of the window cut outs that I was placing him in.  She sat down next to him and asked him for a kiss. I love the look on Mason's face and the way that he is standing while he contemplates whether or not he is going to give his Nana the much anticipated kiss.

...and he did... or at least Nana forced one on him ;o)

My mom and brother and I... This was after an hour of taking everyone's photos and chasing the kids around to make sure that they didn't get into trouble.

My mom took this great shot of my family...

Love this one of Dana and Aiyana. Clara was being a stinker so I had to cut her and I out of the photo. It's nice that Aiyana has a photo of just her and her daddy because it's usually both girls with us in most of our pictures.  Now we will have to get a shot with Dana and Clara as well.

McDowell Sonoran Mountain Preserve

Yesterday... my mom, the girls and I went on a short road trip up to the McDowell Sonoran Mountain Preserve in Scottsdale.  We took the Lost Dog Wash Trail which was only about .5 miles in and .5 miles out.  It was the perfect distance for the young ones.

So if you think I had fun taking flower pictures at the zoo... You can only imagine how amazed I was at the desert flowers that were all in full bloom.  This is, by far, the most beautiful trail that I have hiked in the Phoenix area.

I think that the desert provides a more stunning flower than any other terrain because the colors are so bold against the muted backdrop of cactus and dirt.

 Trecking along...

This one is my favorite photo...

Picking up rocks along the way...

We reached the end of the Lost Dog Trail.

Such beautiful terrain...

Ocotillo ~ We have two of these in our yard now.

The moon peeking between the ocotillo branches...

My baby...

This was my mom's first hike with her granddaughters...
