Christmas 2013

I LOVE being home for Christmas, especially now that the girls are old enough to get so excited about it.  This is a picture that I took last night after the Santa gifts were delivered.

Aiyana struck a pose by the family Santa gift... A new smart TV for the master bedroom.

Waiting for Nana to arrive...

Opening stocking gifts...

This is super blurry, but I had to include it because Clara was so excited about her Santa gift that she broke out in a dance.  She is such a goofball.

Aiyana with her new jewelry box from Santa...

Silly girls...

A really, really bad picture of me, but whatever.  It shows that I was there ;o)

More presents...

Candy Land game from Clara...

Clara is so careful with her gift opening...

A joint gift for the girls and a SUPER fun game for kids...

Clara got a backpack for school... She is SO excited.

A van for Aiyana's Fisher Price doll house.

Clara opening another gift, after getting her backpack all ready to go... notice she stuck her water bottle in it too ;o)

A timed photo that took FOREVER to get.  Darn kids lol.  I don't even care that Clara isn't smiling.  We are all looking at the camera and that works for me.  Merry Christmas everyone!

Dad's House | December 2013

Dad's making some major progress since our last visit which was only a couple of weeks ago.

Most of the framing is complete.  This is the view of the side of his house as seen from across the road.  The left side is the shop area, the center is the garage and the right side is part of the house.

Looking towards the house, from inside the shop.  The room on the right is an office and the one on the left is a machine room.  The welding room is on the other side of the shop.  There is a space for storage above the office.

View of the shop from the back.  There is a covered patio on the back for equipment that my dad prefers to use outside of the shop.

View of the back of the house as seen from the side of the shop.  On the right is the back of kitchen, there will also be a covered patio along that area. The center (with the large window) is the living room.  On the far left is the master bedroom and another covered patio.

Front entrance...

Looking from the shop into the kitchen area of the house...

The living room...

View of the dinning area from the kitchen.  Beyond that will be two archways leading into the hallway, that goes to the bathroom and second and third bedrooms.  The front entrance to the house is on the right.  On the left there will be sliding doors leading to the front courtyard.

Backyard, as seen from the master bedroom patio area.

View of the living room from the master bedroom.

Master bedroom, looking into the double closet area and beyond that, the master bath.  The door on the right leads to the front courtyard.

View of the master suite from the master bathroom.

Front view of the house.  The shop is on the far left (behind the house).  The garage is also on the far left (in front of the shop). The two bedrooms are on the left (in front of the garage area).  The center is the living room and courtyard area that will eventually enclosed by a stone and stucco wall.  The right side is the master suite area.  My dad and I talked about structural changes on the house before the next inspection and the next phase of building begins.  I think he is going to add at least two windows to the master suite area on the right side of the house (I suggested adding three).  The windows will be the small size as seen on the far right.

First Trip to Build-A-Bear

The girls were invited to a birthday party at Build-A-Bear.  A little girl that we met in dance, Tyler, was celebrating her fifth birthday their. This was Aiyana and Clara's first time ever going to Build-A-Bear so it was a super fun experience for them.

First they pick a toy animal to stuff and then they name it.  Aiyana picked a dog and named it Twinkle and Clara picked a bear and named it Beary.

Once they name their toys, they place a heart inside of them.  Each kid was given two hearts, one went inside the birthday girl's bear and the other inside their own bear.  Then they stuffed the bears.

Next they wash the bears...

Then the girl's got to pick one accessory for their toy.  Here they are with their new stuffed animals...

Tempe Dance West Christmas Recital 2013

One more season of dance under their belts...

Aiyana was giving me the shy face while Clara was looking away from the camera... Little buggers!

Such serious faces on these children...

Hugs and smiles..

I love that the girls have so many friends in dance.  Aiyana is sitting next to Makenzie... They have been friends since they were wearing diapers.  Clara is sitting next to Tyler... She was in the girl's dance class last season and she danced with Aiyana this season.
